TRANSLATION

Scientists are well aware that achievements cannot be accomplished on one’s own. Even sailors know they depend on one another, especially in stormy weather. In crime novels, the detectives work with consultants, friends, confidants… In a team, each member has a specialty, each one performs his/her best. You already have your ideas, you know what you want to say. Allow me to join you and help you say it perfectly.

EDITORIAL

I love reading. Especially crime novels, essays and prose written by West African women. You will have a knowledgeable translator on your team.

CORRECTION AND EDITION OF TEXTS

Although it is commonly believed writers and translators work on their own, in reality texts are the result of the combined efforts of teams comprised of people with various skills and one common aim: creating a text that fulfills the purpose it was created for.

Writers and translators start projects, have an idea and polish it over time. Once they are satisfied their version, it is advisable to have other people read the text and help them polish it: maybe the accuracy of data needs verification, maybe some paragraphs need reordering to follow a more logical organization, or perhaps the text just needs a final read to check on layout. That is where first readers, prooreaders, editors and other members of the team come in.

SERVICES FOR RESEARCHERS AND DOCTORS

Researchers have special needs when it comes to translation. Their texts can be academic articles, sent for publication and subject to strict standards, but it may happen they just need the summary of the text, not the full version or the text may just need a final eye.

I have been reading and translating articles and academic texts for a long time, and I have experience in the translation of clinical trial protocols and medical research articles, specially on oncology and diabetes (although also on auto-immune diseases and others).

SERVICES FOR WRITERS AND PUBLISHERS:
CRIME NOVEL AND NON-FICTION

I have discovered that my habilities as a translator perfectly complement my love for crime novels as reader. That is why I have started translated this type of texts and I am actively searching for novels similar to the Charlie Parker cycle (written by the great John Connolly).

I can work with the publishers or directly with writers.

I have included an image of a skull; I am crossing my fingers hoping dame Sue Black sees it and has an interesting project where I can help.

SERVICES FOR NAVAL AND MARITIME LAWYERS

I was born by the El Musel port, in Gijón, on the coast of Asturias, watching fishing ships bring fish and other ships carry coal. It is only logical that part of my work now is centered on translating texts related to the sea and to ships.

I have translated all types of ship documentation, texts on maritime safety, charter contracts and maritime expert reports. In all of them I have tried my best to use the most precise vocabulary and reflect the original with utmost accuracy.
